Event Application Templates allow you to collect information from guests before approving them for a private event. These templates help you understand your audience, manage limited-capacity events, and curate the best possible experience.
With Magic Ticket, you can edit an existing template or create your own from scratch.
Introduction Section #
Every application begins with an intro message. This appears at the top of the form and explains why applicants are being asked to apply. You can customize this text to match your event’s tone and purpose.
Example intro from the template:
“We’re planning a special night and we’d love to learn more about you. Because this is a private event with limited capacity, we’re asking all potential guests to fill out this quick form.”
Choosing the Number of Questions #
You can choose how many questions you want to include—anywhere from one to five.
The interface displays quick-select buttons for 1–5 questions, allowing you to tailor the application length to your event’s needs.
Adding Questions #
Each question in your template includes:
1. A Required Question Field #
For example:
- How would you describe your personality?
2. An Answer Type #
You can choose one of the following for each question:
- Text field
- Multiple choice
- Image upload
3. Multiple Choice Options (When Applicable) #
If your question uses multiple choice, you may add up to five answer choices.
Example from the template:
- Wild ones!
- Low key ones
This is perfect for quickly learning guest preferences, event style interests, and behavioral cues.
Example Questions From the Default Template #
These are the five pre-built questions included in Magic Template #1:
- How would you describe your personality?
- What makes a great night or event for you?
- Have you attended one of our events before?
- What kind of events do you usually enjoy?
- How did you hear about this event?
All questions are fully customizable.
Managing and Saving Templates #
When you finish editing your application:
Update Template #
Save changes to the current template.
Save as New Template #
Create a new template based on the one you just built—perfect for keeping variations for different event types.
You’ll also set the template name, which appears in your event manager when attaching templates to events.
Attaching Templates to Your Event #
Once your template is ready, you can attach it directly to your private event. Attendees who want to join will fill out this application before being approved or added to the guest list.
This helps:
- Filter for the right crowd
- Maintain exclusivity
- Improve safety and trust
- Customize your guest experience
